Pregnant women keep distance from oral bacteria
Pregnancy problem can be developed in healthy women due to oral Bacteria. This has been informed by the scientists from Case Western Reserve University. Scientists have found out that how and which bacterium is liable to for increment in number of stillbirths from 700 types of microorganisms.
This particular study was done by Yiping Han from the section of periodontics. According to the study numerous new microbes originating in the mouth cavity pass throughout the blood to cause inflammation in the placenta and ultimately cause a variety of health problems like stillbirths.
Scientists have been puzzled why oral microbes have exposed in the placenta or amniotic liquid of pregnant women. Scientists have done an experiment by injecting blood of pregnant mice with saliva of periodontal patient. After
24 hours, they have found out that the oral microbes kept on growing. It was also concluded that infection were through the vaginal tract.
Oral microorganisms can be transmitted to blood when there is a cut in mouth's lining or an oral disease like gingivitis or periodontitis which breaks down the defenses check bacteria from infiltrating the blood vessel.
