Moderate Drinking while Pregnancy is Good for Women

A new study has revealed that women who drink moderately are more likely to give birth to better behaved children. This may sound funny but it is true. A study based on a 14 years of research has established this fact. It was found that women who drink moderately were more likely to give birth to better behaved children.

For the study, the behavior of 2,370 children was assessed every 2-3 years from the age of 2 and 14. It was found that children with light or moderate drinking parents were less likely to indulge in aggressive behavior. The limit for moderate drinking was defined at one drink per day.

Health experts still caution pregnant women not to drink during pregnancy as it can have a negative impact on the health of both the mother, as well as the child.

Researchers who undertook this study confirmed that light or moderate drinking by pregnant women did not result in any risk to the child and the mother.

It was found that nearly 60% of the women did not drink during the pregnancy while 3% of the women consumed between seven to ten drinks every week while 2% of the women admitted drinking 11 drinks every week.
